Carton Blanc for · Afterwork
Organising an afterwork: registrations counted, a bar of the right size
For an afterwork, Carton Blanc sends the invitation, collects registrations on a page, closes at the capacity of the venue, reminds those who have not registered and checks arrivals off on a phone.
An afterwork depends on the size of the bar: too few people and the mood drops, too many and nobody finds a drink. Venues ask for an indicative number a few days ahead, and the organiser rarely has more than a group message to guess it.
Carton Blanc supplies that number. Guests register, the count updates with each reply, and the waiting list prevents overbooking. For a regular afterwork, the calendar of drafts is copied from one event to the next.
How Carton Blanc handles this event
- Invitations
- The invitation goes out with a simple flyer: date, venue, time. You import the addresses of the team, customers or network, and you read the text before it goes out.
- Registration
- Each guest registers in a few seconds on the afterwork page and receives a confirmation. No account is asked for.
- Waiting list
- When the bar's capacity is reached, later guests go on a waiting list and are told so. You avoid the "we'll see on the night".
- Reminders
- The D-14 reminder goes to guests who have not replied. For an afterwork, the reminder the day before matters more than any other, because it fixes the time and the address in mind.
- Check-in
- At the entrance, you check arrivals off on a phone. The next day, the follow-up message thanks those who came.
The recommended mailing calendar
An afterwork is organised on a shorter horizon than a gala: four weeks are enough. You can keep only the invitation at four weeks, the reminder at two weeks and the reminder the day before, and adjust the dates of the drafts.
D-42 · Six weeks before
Optional for an afterwork: the date announcement, useful for a year-end event.
D-28 · Four weeks before
The invitation: venue, time, flyer, registration link.
D-14 · Two weeks before
The reminder to guests who have not registered.
D-1 · The day before
The reminder to registered guests: address, time, calendar link.
D+2 · Two days after
The follow-up message, with the date of the next afterwork.
Organiser's tips
- Pick a day that keeps diaries free. Tuesday and Thursday draw more than Monday and Friday. A single regular slot becomes a habit.
- State the duration. "From 6 pm to 9 pm" reassures those who have to get home. A finishing time increases registrations without reducing attendance.
- Tell the bar the number a few days ahead. The number registered a few days out is a fairly reliable figure, with a margin depending on the audience.
- Check people in to learn. Check-in shows who registers without coming. After three events, you know what share of your registrants actually attends.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I organise a company afterwork with Carton Blanc?
- Yes. It handles invitations, registrations, the waiting list, the reminder and check-in, for internal teams as well as customers.
- Does a guest need an account to register for an afterwork?
- No. The guest fills in a short form and receives a confirmation by email.
- Can I reuse the setup of one afterwork for the next?
- Yes. Your guest file stays in your account and the email drafts are created again for each event.
- How much does an afterwork cost?
- A single event is paid once, with no subscription. A company that holds at least three afterworks a month may prefer the subscription; prices are at the bottom of the page.
The flyer for this event
Photo flyers and typographic posters suit afterworks: a large date, a venue, a time. You create them free of charge in your account.

What Carton Blanc does not do
Carton Blanc is not a ticketing tool: it takes no ticket payments and sells nothing to guests. No email is sent without the organiser's approval. There is no advertising, no resale of data and no free plan.
Create an account from €49
Carton Blanc costs €99 incl. VAT a month (€82.50 excl. VAT) with no commitment, or €990 incl. VAT a year (€825 excl. VAT). A single event costs €49 incl. VAT (€40.83 excl. VAT), paid once: its emails and page stay open until 30 days after its date.
