Birthday party flyers
A birthday flyer should say at a glance whose party it is, when and where; add a line on dress code or gifts if you expect either. A colourful, very legible template works better than a crowded one.

How do you choose a birthday party flyer?
For a milestone birthday, a photo template puts a face on the party. For an evening with friends, a typographic poster with wide letters travels well in a group chat.
Choose the style for your guests: people of all ages read a big title and little text more easily than a busy design.
What goes on a birthday party flyer?
- The first name and the age, if you want to say it.
- The date, the start time and the end time.
- The venue and the town.
- The dress code or theme, in one line.
- The RSVP deadline and the link to reply.
How do you keep it legible?
A large title, the date in bold, everything else small: the eye should find the date without searching. Avoid novelty typefaces for the address, which people copy into a map app.
Examples of opening lines
- “Marc turns 50, and he's expecting you on 8 November.”
- “An evening to blow out the candles: reply by 25 October.”
- “Come as you are, leave with cake.”
- “It's a surprise: don't reply to Marie, reply here.”
Frequently asked questions
- How far ahead should you send birthday invitations?
- Four to six weeks for a big party, two to three for a dinner with friends. A reminder goes only to those who have not replied, about two weeks before.
- Can you plan a surprise party with these flyers?
- Yes, as long as the guest of honour's name is not in the title: anyone with the link can open the event page.
- Should the age be on the flyer?
- That is your call. For a round-number birthday it is often the point of the party; otherwise a name and a date are enough.
- Can you add your own photo?
- Yes. The editor takes your own picture in place of the template's. Pick one in good light, in portrait format.
