Gala flyers
A gala flyer announces a prestige event: the name of the evening, the date, the venue, the dress code and, for a fundraiser, what it pays for. A restrained template with fine lettering and sharp contrast earns more trust than a lavish one.

How do you choose a gala flyer?
Dark templates with gold or white titles set the tone of a gala evening, but need generous text sizes. Light templates with a large photo suit a daytime gala or a charity lunch.
If the flyer goes to partners or patrons, keep it plain: a name, a date, a venue, a link.
What goes on a gala flyer?
- The name of the evening and of the host organisation.
- The date, the arrival time and the dinner time.
- The full address of the venue.
- The dress code (black tie, evening dress, smart casual).
- What the evening raises money for, if it is a fundraiser, and the RSVP deadline.
How do you keep it legible?
On a dark background, keep body text larger than usual and avoid very thin letters over a photo. One gold rule or one accent colour is enough.
Examples of opening lines
- “The charity's annual gala, 21 November at the Town Hall.”
- “An evening to fund three scholarships: reserve your table.”
- “Black tie, seated dinner, please reply by 1 November.”
- “You are invited. Places are limited.”
Frequently asked questions
- What must a gala flyer include?
- Nothing is mandatory, but guests always look for the name of the event, the date, the venue and how to reply. The dress code and programme save you questions later.
- Can you sell tickets with Carton Blanc?
- No. Carton Blanc invites, counts and checks guests in, but it does not take ticket payments. For a paid gala, ticketing comes from another tool and the flyer can point to it.
- When should gala invitations go out?
- Six to eight weeks ahead, because diaries fill early. A targeted reminder follows to those who haven't replied, about two weeks before.
- Can the flyer carry the charity's logo?
- Yes: replace the title and image in the editor, and add your logo to the image if you are preparing it yourself.
